Kids Chore Chart Maker
Small jobs help children feel capable and part of the team. Add your kids and their ages, and the chart maker suggests chores that usually suit them. Untick any you do not want, choose the days and print a weekly chart with tick boxes. Add reward points if that works for your family.
How it works
- Each chore has a usual starting age (for example, put toys away from 2, set the table from 5, load the dishwasher from 8)
- Each child gets chores they are old enough for, mixed so older children get more of the bigger jobs
- Points = 1 point per tick; harder chores (age 6+) are worth 2
- Swap chores picks a different mix from the chores that fit
Show each new chore once together, then let them do it their way. Praise the effort more than the result.
Three things this tool can't see
- Your child. Some children are ready for a chore earlier or later than usual.
- Safety. Keep knives, hot pans, cleaning sprays and heavy lifting for older children with an adult nearby.
- Rewards. Points are optional. Many families use them only for the first few weeks.
