Reading Log & Reward Chart
A simple chart on the fridge can turn reading into a habit. Pick your child's name, a daily goal in minutes or pages and how many weeks to track. The chart has a star to colour for each day, lines for book titles and small rewards at milestones. Rewards work best when they are about reading too, like a trip to the library.
How it works
- One star per reading day; colour it in when the goal is met
- Total stars = reading days a week × weeks
- Rewards are spaced evenly: with 4 rewards over 28 stars, one every 7 stars
- Book lines at the bottom let your child write each finished title
Three things this tool can't see
- Your child's level. If the goal feels hard, make it smaller. Enjoying books matters more than minutes.
- Read-aloud time. Being read to counts! Younger children can colour a star for a story at bedtime.
- Saving. Nothing is saved here. Print the chart and keep it somewhere you all see.
